This six-page document provides strategies for investigators who are renewing violent crime cold cases about how to communicate with various stakeholders who have been impacted by the violent crime. It provides information on trauma-informed and victim-centered responses, advocacy coordination, legal and policy considerations, communication plan development and considerations, and how to communicate about complex circumstances which may require multiple victim advocates.
