Recommendations for Investigating Shootings

The National Case Closed Project (NCCP) includes in-depth site assessments and custom training and technical assistance to support sites in implementing an improved response to fatal and non-fatal shootings. Through consultation with an extensive group of subject matter experts and our continued work with jurisdictions engaged in case clearance, the RTI NCCP Team has developed the following recommendations for effectively investigating shootings.

Columbia Police Department

The site report describing findings and recommendations resulting from an in-depth assessment of the Columbia Police Department conducted on February 6-7, 2023 is forthcoming.


Milwaukee Police Department

The site report describing findings and recommendations resulting from an in-depth assessment of the Milwaukee Police Department conducted on June 21-23, 2023 is forthcoming.


Salt Lake City Police Department

The site report describing findings and recommendations resulting from an in-depth assessment of the Salt Lake City Police Department conducted on August 29-31, 2023 is forthcoming.
